Grooming
We offer thorough and gentle hydrobaths for all dogs followed by a blow dry and brush. We only use Dermcare shampoos, and also recommend these for home use.
During Summer, when hot weather can make a long coat uncomfortable, and when grass seeds and burrs are a regular problem, many animals benefit from a short haircut all over. Some breeds need regular haircuts to avoid unruly tangled coats. For grooming services requiring clipping please ask us for our local recommendations.
Many animals are also bathed with medicated washes as part of a management plan for troublesome skin diseases. Needless to say, any problems noted by the groomer are brought to the attention of the duty vet.
Weight Control
As a veterinary practice we would not be doing our patients any favours if we didn’t make sure they were near their correct body weight. We know it can get a bit depressing to be told your animal is overweight so we try to be constructive and suggest ways of fixing the problem.
The easiest and most successful approach we have found is for clients to enroll their pets in a Weight Control Clinic. Pets will need to have been first seen by a vet to ensure there are no medical problems contributing to the weight problem, but there is no charge for the visits after this. The structured approach and regular follow-ups maximise the chance of getting rid of the extra kilos and more importantly, maintaining the new body weight.

We don’t try to keep a vast range but instead we stock a limited choice of what we believe to be the best and highest quality products available. We do try to have everything an owner might need, even cat litter.
