Cavoodle Puppy-Selling Scams

Updated October 30, 2022

*Note: if you’re here to check on a possible scam site, scroll down to the comments where there’s a lively discussion! Here is a quick summary of what’s been found:

List Of Cavoodle Scam Sites

This list changes quickly as sites appear and disappear so accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Remember: do not buy from any site using the word Cavapoo as this is not used in Australia.

  • Cute Mini Cavoodle Puppies Home cuteminicavoodlespuppueshome.com
  • Cavoodles With Love cavoodleswithlove.com
  • Dove Cavoodels Puppies Home dovecavoodlespuppieshome.com
  • Hobart Cavoodle Puppies hobartcavoodlepuppies.com
  • Home Raised Cavoodles homeraisedcavoodles.com
  • MJ Cavodle Pups mjcavodlepups.com
  • Mona Cavoodle Puppies monacavoodlepuppies.com (take a look as well at trainedbordercolliepuppies.com)

  • Precious Cavoodle Puppies preciouscavapoopuppies.com
  • Quality Cavoodle Puppies qualitycavoodlepuppies.com
  • Sweet Cavoodles sweetcavoodles.com

There are also Facebook pages, which I am not able to follow. If you are scammed by one of these, contact Facebook directly to have them taken down.

Now dive deeper…

Puppy buying scams are everywhere. They prey on the fact that puppies are hard to get, and very expensive. I’ve showed you before my ways to spot a false puppy advertisement by looking up the domain registration and image sources. This time I’ll show you an easier way.

This test was done on 4 Feb, 2020 but it’s just as useful now for the latest scams. I Googled “cavoodle puppies for sale” and the top paid ad on my first page was a scam. It’s the screenshot above.

How did I know? Let’s get dirty. You can apply what I’m doing to any site you’re suspicious of. I’ve done a few for you in the comments section at the end too. You’re welcome to leave a comment about your own experiences too.

This would be fun if real people weren’t getting hurt.

No Updates

I first visited the site 1 month earlier, and the top three puppies were Lulu, Usher and Lux. When I went back, the top three puppies were Lulu, Usher and Lux.

So either they have a magic serum for stopping puppies growing or they aren’t really selling puppies at all.

Image Subject

If you scroll through the images on these scam sites you’ll notice something odd. The puppies are all in different places. They look more like puppies owned by a lot of different people. Sometimes you’ll be lucky enough to spot a detail like an American license plate.

Reverse image search that I’ve used before doesn’t work so well on these pictures because they probably take them from social media. I did get lucky with ‘Lux’s picture (top left at the start) – you can see that all the similar pictures come from a breeder in the USA.

So either they have an amazing variety of homes in which to raise puppies or they aren’t selling puppies at all.

Dodgy Testimonials

On any dodgy site, it’s always good to see if they’ve just lifted text from somewhere else. I suspect most of these sites are made offshore by people with poor English.

Pick a random line of text, in this case from the Testimonials page and put it into Google surrounded by quotation marks. I did it for: “my husband COULD NOT WAIT to meet Lauren!!”

Needless to say, this testimonial appears elsewhere online on a teacup Poodle site. Testimonials are always dodgy and should make you very wary whenever you see them.

So either they sell puppies to people who cut and paste other people’s testimonials, or they aren’t selling puppies at all.

Online Reputation

Try searching the site address goldencavoodles.com in Google or Facebook and once you get past their own listings you’ll find lots of excellent people alerting you that this site is a scam.

You’ll also read tragic stories of someone’s mum, or a friend who was both defrauded and devastated.

Price, Typos, Address

There are a lot of other red flags about this seller that you often see in scams. Each might have an explanation, but so many together…

  • Why do the puppies cost less than half of other sellers?
  • Why is their site address .com and not .com.au like most Australian businesses? Note: Some scammers are now using .com.au addresses.
  • Why is there no street address or phone number?

How To Avoid Scams

This article is more than just about one website. It will disappear one day and be replaced by others. It’s the principle I want you to see, and some simple steps to detect fraudulent puppy sellers.

It seems easy, doesn’t it? However, part of the reason these scams are so common is that people making emotional decisions are more likely to be trusting. I suspect we can all be vulnerable at times.

  1. Any thoughts on Leghari Cavoodles? They have no Facebook or instagram and can’t find anything about them at all bar from their website.

    1. Hi Sophie. I can’t find their website either – please post the URL in this format: legharicavoodles.com

    2. We got our puppy from them in February. Puppy was shipped and she got here safe. They have been of great support since then and they have a community on facebook. Am suprise to read you saying they don’t have a facebook. They do have a facebook and instagram page which my family and i all follow.

  2. I would just like to take the time to thank you Andrew former not only providing a space for us to inform each other, ask questions and share information, but also for the personal time you’ve dedicated to providing quality information and collating a wealth of resources for us. I imagine the time taken to respond to questions and put together this blog would be a huge sacrifice of your time and I can’t begin to express my gratitude. As a new puppy-market explorer, I stumbled across this site by chance and I’m incredibly relieved I did. I’m blown away by the quality of your content and I just want to extend my heartfelt gratitude. Even though you’re less active in the blog posts these days, the information you’ve provided remains incredibly relevant and useful to me and I’m sure many future purchasers.

I’m also so impressed by the information shared by other visitors to the site so I want to acknowledge everyone here who has contributed to making others more informed even when they themselves have lost not only financially, but have had the emotional investment in purchasing a puppy ripped away when they’ve discovered it has been a scam, which is often harder to reconcile. I want to thank everyone for your kindness in trying to protect others from the same.

Thank you Andrew and past contributors.

  3. Any reports or comments on karasdoodles.com

Similar offering to the others claiming to be based in Tas ($1500+ flights). Happy to provide pics but do meet and greet at local Petbarn shop?

    1. Hi Sarah. How about you check with the local pet barn that the promised meetings really happen? I’m just assuming that payment happens well before this. This site looks very similar to scam sites as you can see for yourself by looking at some of the features above.

    2. They don’t have an.au at end of address, but have +61 on their number. Listing weight in pounds. Way cheaper than elsewhere…. A bit suss. They Do not list their location anywhere.

      1. Hi Miriam. Yes, very suss; these are some of the things to watch out for. Remember that they can make their number appear to come from inside Australia even when it’s not so the other facts are more important.

  4. I was scammed last night and lost $500 from someone saying they had covoodles for $1300 had to come from Melbourne. I am absolutely shattered and have lost that money. I was wanting to buy a puppy as my daughter is moving to South Australia and the puppy was going to help me from being lonely. And I’ve also just lost my aunty and I’m on the verge of a breakdown. The company who it was meant to be was lovely Cavoodle or sweet coovoodles puppies

    1. i to nearly got scammed but my gut instinct made me not do it . same place lovey covoodles

    1. Hi Zia. The site billycavoodlespuppies.com shows up in search results but is not available as I write. If it reappears, apply the same guidelines as for the other sites above and you should be able to tell.

    2. Confirmed, its a scam, unfortunately I have just called them out and im.glad I did before my mothers heart was broken. Photos are illegitimate on website. I was able to find the exact photos on other sites that were routinely used in scams and found the original owner in a post that was made 2 years ago in a blog. With claims of being apart of the Australian Kennel Club from the logo on the bottom of this site, the person behind it could not give me any details on their breeder number and claimed they were infact a private and not a accredited breeder, which was another contradiction. I recieved excuses on why they could not provide further proof of existence and claimed to want $1100 deposit for puppy to be sent before delivery. Do not be fooled. This is a scam.

    3. Hi guys, seems to good to be true, contacted a website mjcavodlepups.com
I searched their NCPI number and came up with a different name to the person txting me. He said the other person is his wife and he named her which was then the same name as the NCPI number. They are offering for 1500 plus flight from Tasmania. I’m worried cause I requested FaceTime to ensure I can see the puppy but was offered more videos etc. I’m Worried to give them Anymore of my information cause I can’t confirm anymore details.

      1. Hi Rhonda. I had a quick look online, but I couldn’t find anyone of that name – do you have the web address?

  5. Hi,

I think i nearly got scammed:
    Ourcavoodle Pups <ourcavoodlepups@gmail.com

Gave me these details to transfer payment:
    pup would come form TASSY.

i transferred to this bank account but my bank rejected it.

    BSB……802985
    NAME OF BANK….. CUSCAL LIMITED
    Amount: $1750 AUD

Then they gave me this one – but i spoke to my bank in between and they advised this was involved in a scam.

    BSB……063097
    NAME OF BANK….. COMMONWEALTH
    Amount: $1750 AUD

Also wording in am email flagged me:
Congrats on your new family member and wish you guys the best of stay in advance.

    1. Thanks Jodi. Sorry I took out the account holder name and number just in case, but I agree that the site looks like a scam.

      1. Hi Andrew. I’m part of Puppy Scam Awareness Australia. We have reported that bank account to the Financial Crimes Exchange and I will have also have that website for Our Cavoodle Puppies, shut down today or tomorrow – I have already reported it.

If anyone here has issues with a scammer or lost money we can provide support and advice on what and where to go next, and how to spot a scam. We also have partnered with Meta and can have Facebook and Instagram scams shut down too.

We have a Facebook group if anyone needs support or advice.

    2. Hi. I think I have been scammed too by ourcavoodlepups.com
I paid $1750 to this BSB & account number 032885 7220874 to JD Muldoon on 17/6/22.
I tried to ask for a receipt but seller said he still hadn’t received money today.
I called my bank to do a trace and recall.
I am not sure if I will get my money back or a puppy.
Feeling sad as I have never been scammed. I actually asked the seller if he was a scammer before I made the purchase as I didn’t know him and I was being cautious. The website and questions I asked him (Jo) seemed legitimate at the time.

      1. Hi Mechelle
I see you have joined our group. We may be able to help you as that account has been reported previously.

  6. Hi there,
I found this site that say the dogs are in Tasmania.
I contacted them to ask how much they are and one of the dogs and they sent me pics and said they were $1,900 including transport.
Is this another dodgy site?? No phone number or address.
    Website includes: cuteminicavoodlespuppueshome

    Thanks

    1. Hi Lily. It looks very dodgy and unless you can get physical proof that this breeder exists where they say they are then I would have nothing to do with them.

    1. Hi Karen. Sorry this page is about scams. Generally Cavoodle breeders do not register as there is no breed association I am aware of.

    2. Precious cavoodle puppies seems dodgy. I’m emailing with them now. They sent photo’s of the dog I enquired about that doesn’t look the same. Their pics all have different backgrounds. They say they’re from Tasmania. Reading these I’m starting to see the commonalities. They also sell for 1500 plus 300 plane shipping.
They used pounds to describe weight. .. so thanks to your site I am wary and armed. I’d likely use airtasker or similar for money transfers anyway. A company that holds the funds until both parties confirm service received.

      1. Thanks Natalia. They are indeed quite dodgy. The website is full of content taken from other sites and found another scam pages. Not only do they use pounds, one of the testimonials talks about travelling to Florida which seems a bit of a stretch from Australia!

    3. Sorry I forgot to add the website to suspected scammers. preciouscavapoopuppies.com

  7. Puppy Haven Pty said in NSW (Cavoodles $1500 ) unsure if legitimate provides ABN but no other contact on website what do you think?

  8. I found another site that seems to be a scam, its called cavoodlecutepuppies.
We were already suspicious of the price being $1500 which is sooo much cheaper than ones we have seen but then i googled how to spot a scam and came across this site. THANK YOU!!
these guys claim to be in tasmania and they will ship puppy
I asked if we could come see the puppies as it mentions they strongly recommend this and they replied with “Who said we accept pick ups is this your plan to contaminate people with covid”
I apologised and responded by saying it was on the website.
And they replied with ” before covid 19″, didnt offer any other information so i requested if we could meet the puppy by zoom video call as also mentioned on their site & the replied with folliwing “Another family has paid for the pup good-luck finding another you one delayed”
Very unprofessional, poor grammar. All photos were different backgrounds and i also copied a testimonial into google and the same testimonial was on another site that looks exactly the same as theirs called seranova cavoodle home

    1. Hi Eleanor. These two sites are interesting – they don’t really specify where in the world they are and it’s only the use of the word Cavoodle that suggests they are targeting Australian markets. The second site, seranovacavoodlehome is hilarious because it says the puppies are tested for a variety of cat diseases in their cattery.

  9. Hey, I’ve been looking at websites to buy a cavoodle. There is one called merrxcavoodle that seems a little sketchy, with the prices and a few other things I’ve noticed, does anyone know if it’s a scam?

  10. We contact a so called breeder in South Cairns about buying a Cavapoodle for 1800$. We obtained an address, but could not get the so called breeder to give us their BIN. We contacted the local RSPCA in Cairns and they were going to investigate, and get back to us. So far no return call from either of them, so would think the seller was a Scammer. Noce puppies photos though.

    1. Hi Graham. Let me know the web address if there’s one and I’ll check it out (remember not to write http or www to evade our spam filter)

  11. Cavoodles with love AND Jodie cavoodles are both fake websites. Both claim to be in Tasmania but calls go to Canberra. They have both pretty much admitted they’re fake by losing their temper when asked for verification of paperwork etc. From my experience, anyone who can’t tell you their location, let you pick up the dog, or insist on shipping only, it’s bad news. Also the reduced sale price is a give away. I will be reporting these both to cybercrimes.

    1. Hi Janette. Thanks very much for the research. I’ve added Cavoodles with love to the scam list, but I could not find Jodie Cavoodles – is it possible AutoCorrect has changed what you wrote?

      1. I’ve just been had by QualityCavoodlepuppies.com. In one of the testimonials it mentioned Jodie. I am now in the process of reporting them everywhere I can. I feel stupid now for believing I was getting a beautiful Cavoodle.

  12. thankyou for your site, it just saved me from making a big mistake, I fell in love with a puppy from, dovecavoodlespuppieshome, I emailed them and they answered saying they were in Tasmania and was a bit sus about the low price which wasn’t advertised on the pics, I stumbled on your page and all pups were photographed on different 4 lounges and the testimonial’s were badly written. So thank you Andrew.

  13. [name withheld] Cavoodles FB page is a scam and people saying they have got dogs from him are also fake FB accounts. Not 1 person who said they got a dog through him can prove it by posting a pic of the person in their FB profile with a pup.

    1. Hi Amanda. Thanks for your comment but I’m not able to monitor Facebook pages and so I have removed the name for legal reasons. However, it’s certainly a wake up call to also be careful in this area and your research sounds thorough and sensible.

  14. Sweet Cavoodles also appears to not add up. I almost bought a puppy but the web site is only just registered, health guarantee went for 2 years to 1 year. Website mentions a different company “golden miricles” looks copy and pasted and communication with the person selling “Mary beadon” the English degraded over time. Also the website mentions “shots” a very americanised way of saying immunizations.
    Located in Tasmania
Be very cautious I believe to be a scam

    1. Hi Kylie. It certainly has all the hallmarks: text and images lifted from other sites, no reliable contact details and bad English throughout. This would be a ‘do not buy unless you can visit personally’ recommendation.

      1. Hi can you please have a look at fur cavoodle babies.
I just can’t figure out if they are legit.

      2. Hi Emily. The only site I can find is furbabiescavoodle.com, which is currently defunct and therefore does not look legit.

  15. Hi Andrew
Well I’ve just been scammed for $1975 which I transfered yesterday through osko. I checked everything before hand breeder number and I wish I came on this site earlier but he sounded so legit through pics and emails and phone calls. The site was Hobart cavoodle puppies family breeder blah blah blah only had 5 dogs there I purchased a dog name pachel and under him was a dog named spice he replied to me by John but on his account details showed as John B Robertson ..just a heads up guys money comes n goes but the devestation and sadness on my 2 boys faces you can’t explain.

      1. Hi I found a mastercavapoos.com which looks dodgy but it doesn’t mention Australia at all. Therefore although I would never buy from it, neither should anyone be fooled.

      2. Thanks so much mate there’s so many scammers now n so many people falling for it…not good

      3. Hi Andrew,

I am in the process of buying Spice, John also mentioned Pachel is still available. I did not transfere money yet so I did this search. Thanks God.

      4. Mona Cavoodles have pups listed at 11 weeks old for last 3 weeks for sale $1700.00 tried to find home address to no end think this is also scam!

    1. I just saw the same 2 dogs names on Mona cavoodle puppies site and submitted an email. Glad I saw this before they answer me. It’s so sad you can’t trust anyone.

    2. Those puppies (Spice & Pachel) are still for sale at Mona Cavoodle Puppies in April 2022.
Sorry for your disappointment, I hope you got your money back.

  16. Hi there,
We almost bought a puppy from Royal Cavoodle Puppies supposedly in Tasmania.
The guy just signed his email as John but sent photos and a video of the said puppy. It all looked so real. Lucky we came across this website. I did a reverse image search from the guidance in the comments and found identical images to the website in Texas! The email is
cavoodlepuppies26@gmail.com in case anybody else is about to order Spice.
The website is royalspoodlepuppies dot com .
Posting to hopefully prevent others from being scammed like we nearly were.
    Thankyou for this post

  17. I got scammed by Kevin Cross homes. I have reported to the police but doubt they can locate. Should have looked at this site first. On a positive I got a beautiful puppy from Mudgee and we are very happy. Still would like my $1600 back from that scumbag!

  18. Hi there, I’m wanting to purchase a mini cavoodle how do I know a legitimate breeder?
It’s really tough out there as some you can genuinely tell but others I have no idea.
Would be great to get a list or know where to go?

    1. Hi Allysa. There are some tips in this article to help you recognise the difference between a genuine and scam breeder. Unfortunately, keeping an up-to-date list of genuine breeders is even harder than one for the scammers! Also, you’ll find in recent comments a link to a genuine breeder for comparison.

    1. Hi Dia. Red flags everywhere: dodgy testimonials, puppies too cheap, pictures taken all over the place. Look at the site in the most recent comment for a comparison.

  19. I was just wondering if anyone has bought a puppy from Cavoodle World in NSW? My friend German shepherd from there because they breed both cavoodles and German shepherds but I just wanted to see if anyone has bought a Cavoodle. We were nearly scammed once and so it made my family and I a bit nervous in trusting other breeders.

    1. Just visited their site and they look OK. No red flags and the positive Google reviews are hard to fake.

  20. i have been scammed out of $1450 from a site aucavoodles.com, i got conned into to doing cardless cash transfers and even scammed from susscargo logistics as when ringing them i got a couple that had also been scammed by the same person and when spoke to him about this he wanted more money off me .. his name is Jon Matusiewicz … please add this one to your list he even uses your phone number on false courier websites

  21. Hi all.
We made a purchase with “cox puppy home” in aus.
Everything seemed so well… until…. he delayed the visit. We called the bank after finding his website only on ONE scammer website. But after reading all this information, a lot of it matches us. “Usher, lux, all the same names. Reverse image search was linked to “puppy spot” in America which seems to be reputable. The initial message was the same as one above from a different scam website. But to be honest I’m still wondering if it’s legit, this guy “John cox” is STILL emailing about the puppy. When we asked for genuine photos he got weird. His phone number seems to be in Perth but he says he is in Modbury north (which is the same suburb as us so I am a bit scared). The bank refunded half our payment today… I guess my question is… does anyone know if this is a legitimate scam? He even gave us an address for pickup!!!!! I don’t understand why a scammer would keep contact after receiving money!
    Please help 🙁

    1. Hi Alexandra. I have his address and phone number from a previous investigation, and I might go around there personally in the next few days. If it’s not genuine, I will get the police involved.

      1. I’m so worried he is going to email me today asking why half of the payment is missing !!
His mobile number is fake and we think we linked his home phone to Perth!

      2. Hi, just wondering if John cox from coxhome.com.au is a scam. All signs point to a scammer. He also gave me an address in modbury but I am in Melbourne. This is the address he gave me [edited]
        Is he a scammer?
        Thanks in advance

      3. Hi Angie. You and several other people have made the same request and the address you supplied is the same one he supplied me when I contacted him two weeks ago. It all looks very strange. I’m going to go up there tomorrow and then post back here once I have.

      4. Hi Andrew can you confirm if John Cox is a scammer? I have paid him for a puppy yesterday and have had radio silence since, I only just found this 20 minutes ago and I am devistated! I did everything I could think of to see if it was a scam and nothing come up, I feel like a fool

      5. Hi AnnMaree. At the moment I Have heard from several people who have paid him for puppies and have not received them, but the situation is not clear. I have reported him to the police for further investigation and we will await the outcome.

    2. Address of John Cox is for a beach house in South Australia. Price of their dogs is about 40% of current market price with free shipping!.
Email communication lacks detail with poor grammar.
If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck….

    3. Hi I’m Just looking at purchasing from John Cox he has emailed me with an address from Smoky Bay. He said he’s not a registered breeder and I’ve asked for his vets details and pics of the parents. He has sent pics but no vet details.

      1. Hi Lisa. Red flags for this ‘seller’ are:
        • Puppies that never change (it’s exactly the same list as three weeks ago)
        • Testimonials that are lifted from other websites
        • An implausible address – just have a look where Smokey Bay is, which is the second address used
        • Many disgruntled people
        • Implausible prices
It’s very likely there is no such person as John Cox, and that like any scam, the money leaves Australia as soon as it is deposited. Pictures of the parents could be any dogs and don’t add any extra security. As for vet details, you really can’t verify that with privacy laws even if he gives you one. I have also seen other scams using other breeders’ rego numbers. There are much safer ways to buy puppies than this.

  22. Please Add… cavoodlepupshaven.com/ to your list..
Its truly a sad thing that these people can get away with this.. Scamming puppy love, just disgusting..
This one is pretty obvious though.. Hope Iv saved someone some heartache.

    1. Thanks Jacqui. This one is especially pernicious because they use the registered details of another genuine breeder. I did a Whois lookup and the site is registered to a Sammy Kale of Douala, Cameroon!

      1. Hi everyone. I thought I had a great deal on a maltipoo until I read this information… Lux and Usher are on the side I’m looking at, and I’ve been emailing John Cox about the puppy Lux. The website is coxhome.com.au … I’m being scammed, aren’t I?

      2. Hi Frances. You are correct that it looks like the scam sites but a major difference is that it has a .com.au address. If this site is not genuine this is the first instance I have seen and so I have contacted the seller. Unless they can provide proof of Australian residency, I would not proceed. (P.S. ‘great deals’ should always be approached suspiciously)

  23. We were on the site whittycavoodlehome.com and found an adorable puppy. We were messaging the guy and when we asked him for his information he stopped talking to us. Do you reckon it’s actually a scam?

  24. So pleased I came across this site, I’ve been liasing with Kevin Cross and was very close to purchasing Olie! How do they get away with this? Surely they should face prosecution? It’s disgusting! I really feel for the people that have already been scammed!

    1. Excellent article !
Found it right after I sent an enquiry to Kevin Cross… 🙁
Wish I checked before – I’m normall more on the ball!
Now that they have my email address and address (qs well as name) – is there anyone I can contact?

    2. Omg I’ve just found this website as I have been loading with Kevin Cross about Olie. So is it all a hoax?

    3. I also handed over a tremendous amount of money before I became suspicious. I am having investigations done presently. Kevincross homes kept on making excuses before handing over paper document’s to get more money out of my account.

      1. Yvonne, don’t believe him he is a scammer, I am the living victim from Kevin cross home

    4. Hi Belinda, I was also purchasing Ollie until I started to get suspicious! Wasn’t she gorgeous? Luckily I googled Kevin Cross before I gave them $1700.

  25. I was scammed by Kevin Cavoodle’s. Lulu was the female pup she looked beautiful. Fell in love with her . The price $1800 . Free delivery to wa . With Christmas voucher . Even sent a picture of identity . He wanted a special transfer first but I’m getting on and couldn’t do it so eventually he decided to except a bank transfer . When nothing happened I kept on at him and he said he would send me a bank cheque or the pup didn’t get either . Just wonder do we have any rights over people like him. I rang my bank and informed them that I’d been scammed. . Whether i get my money back god nows. Diana

    1. Hi Diana. I’m so sorry to hear that. There is a link in the article to a page that might assist you but it’s tough.

  26. Boyle De Clan Cavoodle Home boyledeclancavoodlehome.com is scammer as I did my deposit $500 to the puppy called Bella, I took my lesson. Please don’t trust this website and Boyle De Chan Cavoodle.

    Beware
    My bad luck

  27. Watch out for priority cavoodles in Tasmania as well as Furexpress Australia, been scammed by both today, out of pocket $4000 and they wanted more

    1. Hi Angela. Thanks for letting us know. Certainly prioritycavoodlehome.com and furexpressaustralia.com do not pass the sniff test. It’s a great concern that scammers are now targeting freight.

  28. This article is so helpful. Almost got scammed by Diamond Cavoodles. Thank you. Just one question; how to get a Cavoodle? Price is one thing but demand is so high all the legit breeders aren’t even taking waitlists. Perhaps, what is a similar dog breed that doesn’t shed/drool much ok for apartment living? Had a schnauzer years ago she was amazing, but they’re very hard to find too

    1. Hi Kieran. All you can do to get a legitimate Cavoodle is show the local ethical breeders that you’re serious by being regularly in touch. However, I think that Toy and Miniature Poodles are seriously under-rated, not to mention Chihuahuas, Shi Tzus and Lhasa Apsos.

    2. Hi my husband and I got scammed from Kevin Cross Homes $5800 and they have already started up a bank account in my husband’s name with ING. They are the same people that advertise as Kevin Cavoodles and diamond cavoodles. All have different emails and mobile numbers. Currently have been in contact with police, ACCC, ACORN and the list goes on. What still shocks me is this websites are taking far too long to shut down and it doesn’t seem to be a priority for the police in both SA and VIC, this is certainly not a “‘back yard job” the Kevin we spoke to had a very thick accent, police have done nothing to trace our calls which I find very frustrating.

      1. Img I was just going to send money to get a puppy as well this is what he sent me

A copy of his licence the scum

      2. Sorry it doesn’t come up in the comment section – these licenses are often fraudulently obtained by asking real breeders to send copies to them.

  29. Hello, I am wondering if you know anything about this breeder:
boyle declan cavoodlehome? They are selling Cav puppies for $3000 shipped to Melbourne which seems very odd as prices in Melbourne are $10, 000.
There is no .com.at at the end of their website just a .com and the emails I am receiving back are written with not the greatest English.
So hard to see if the breeder is real or fake! I have just asked for the Breeder rego number so will see if they are able to provide that or not.

    1. Hi Carly. Here is my view of. boyledeclancavoodlehome.com
      1. This testimonial is found on many other sites (note also that ‘vet tech’ is not an Australian term). “All 6 Vet techs including the Dr. made a BIG DEAL out of her.”
      2. “Our puppies have been requested all over North America and Canada due to their quality”. Hmm
      3. Variable puppy backgrounds that suggest they don’t all come from the same place
      4. And as you say, a .com address with no indication of a physical address either. My advice: avoid this site

    2. I thought the same today. I’ve done a reverse google image search on ‘Bella’ and that picture is everywhere. I wouldn’t trust. They have no location, no email or phone number. Dodgy!

  30. I am so grateful for this post, I literally emailed Diamond Cavoodles today asking for more info about LuLu (as mentioned in Andrew’s article). It’s so sad that we need to be so careful when searching for a furbaby

    1. Yes! I’ve been liaising with Kevin @ Diamond Cavoodles to.
“We are located in Modbury North, SA .We currently have free Xmas shipping Vouchers with our to ship Puppies at no extra cost at the moment. So, if you purchase a Puppy from us while this Voucher is still available, we will be able to ship the Puppy for free or you will pay an extra $160-$180 for shipping when the …”
He wants me to send money through a bank transfer and pul will be sent by Wednesday through Dog Movers …
sadly he’s got ALL my personal details .

      1. Interesting! Modbury North is just up the road from here. I contacted them myself to see if I could drop in personally! What a surprise that I received no reply

      2. Seems like I’ve been scammed as well I transfered 700 dollars as a deposit and he is now asking me if I can do cardless for him today and the rest via transfer. That’s why I havehad a second thought to double check the this web site the same as you mentioned.

      3. Just had the same scam. Just thought I would google and check out Kevin T. Who doesn’t give their last name or ring you? A scammer.

      4. I have been contacting this one too. Tempting because of the price. I asked for a phone number so that I could call and ask questions maria aka Boyle declined, said she is hard of hearing and has to do it by email!! Really?

      5. They are now advertising as Sunshine Cavoodles in Modbury Nth, SA. Still no address or phone number. Website looks professional.

      6. Hi Ruth. The websites are definitely getting better but the testimonials and the available puppies are just as dodgy – they even slip up by accidentally copying a testimonial from another scam page Julissa Teacups

      7. Check out website puppyscamawareness.com.au
Great website with a list of steps to take when you have been scammed. Very time consuming if you have handed over your details but worth the effort.

    2. me too…..I emailed about Usher- in SA ? with free shipping? said to my Hb was too good to be true

    3. I just emailed them too! They seemed to good to be true. Sad as I loved the look of Lu Lu

  31. I am from Puppy Scam Awareness Australia. Please join our fb group or website to see a comprehensive list of scammers before buying a puppy.

      1. I don’t know if there are specific techniques for Internet-based scams, but it is a criminal offence and I would start by making a police complaint.

    1. Hi Frank. To this and any other similar comments: I am not able to check on the reputation of breeders. If you are concerned about a scam site please post its web address (without https and www to avoid our spam blocker) and I will look into it for you.

      1. thanks Andrew unfortunately she does it all through facebook messenger and over the phone with no website

      1. Hi Terri. Sadly I had to delete your reply as I cannot verify it. My advice to anyone wanting to check the reputation of a breeder without a website in SA is to join the Cavoodles of South Australia Facebook group and ask their experience.

  32. Please note that I believe fabulous cavoodles australia is also a scam. Their prices are very cheap in comparison. Once I messaged them they said there was other interest in the puppy and to put a deposit. Being aware of the scams I asked for vet health records and they have not replied and that was 3 days ago.
The language in the email was a little off also. Beware fabulous cavoodles Australia.

  33. Please note that I came across Aussie cavoodles.com based in Tasmania and the website to me looked very credible. I messaged them and they emailed me back with some extra pics of the puppy I was interested in and provided so much information I was like wow they really are helpful . As I was researching a puppy MY mum who is a dog lover came across an article about puppy cavoodle scams. I didn’t pay much attention to it and only read a bit of the article but it was enough to cast a doubt in my mind. I emailed Aussie cavoodles .com and said I was very interested but wanted to view vet health records etc and they have not replied back. I googled them again and strangely I could not find them again. I then googled aussiecavoodlestasmania and came across this article which mentions that particular website. Thankfully I had some sense about me and felt uneasy.
Beware everyone there are so many crooked people out there.

  34. I looked at lewis cavoodles. They say they are breeders in Perth. Their bank details are in new. They gave me a address in south australia. Very dodgy . Has anyone else delt with them

    1. Hi Tony. Be VERY careful. I have seen very similar puppies pictured on other scam sites (note photos all in different locations too), the same misspelling of “FeMale” and the testimonials are also found elsewhere on the web. Here is one where Wollongong is changed for Oklahoma: “We live in Oklahoma and they worked hard making special arrangements to fly our puppy to us since it’s to hot for the major airports in Oklahoma to accept animals right now.” Either they are being copied or they are doing the copying. When added to your observations, I would look elsewhere unless you can visit them personally.

    2. I have been emailing them and today asked for proof of their credentials because I wanted to ensure that they are legit. Waiting on a response. Sure, they sent me photos of a beautiful pup but for $3500 all up to fly to NSW is a bit concerning. Tony, I haven’t got to the bank account details yet… still trying to confirm if they are for real.

  35. Thank you for having this great resource to identify scammers. I’ve been looking at Premier Cavoodles and fell for Rocky and Max. The website seemed to cover everything but their location. I started to get concerned and after Googling the name I came across a lot of warnings including yours. These vultures will get what’s coming their way eventually.
Keep up the good work with warning purchasers to avoid these scumbags.

    1. Yep, definitely a scam. No Australian address, bad grammar in testimonials and the wrong date format (M/D/Y) Steer clear of these vultures!

  36. Hi Andrew
Just in need of some advice. I’ve have been emailing a website called Aussie Cavoodles. Not sure if they are legit or a scam . They have emailed me back with extra pics of 2 puppies that i am interested in. A few things I have picked up by reading your comments is they use miles instead of kms and their website is Ad aussiecavoodles.com/ no au!’ Their contact details are also not very clear. Seeking advice please. I haven’t paid any money yet.

    1. Hi Mary Kay. I had a quick look and congratulate you for your observations. In addition, right on the front page they use the name Cavapoo, which I’ve warned people about as well. Additionally, the ‘about’ page shows the same Thomas Payne picture that I’ve seen on scam pages and is mentioned elsewhere in the comments as originally from Cornwall, UK. Once again, the pictures show puppies in different houses, and the testimonials can be found elsewhere on the Internet being used by scam pages. For example this one, bad English and all: “ So many breeders have lost their ways and have lost their integrity of this breed, but when we came in contact with you guys we knew we where at the right place”

      1. Hi Andrew,
I’ve been in contact with a breeder from WA, the website is “cutecavoodles.info”
seems too good to be true. Have you come across this site?

      2. Hi Mary. I had a look and have a few concerns:
        1. The same street address was also used by goldencavoodles.info (site since removed) with the following text: “Please visit us at. 79 Campbell Road, Spencer Park WA 6330. Golden Puppies Australia. Copyright © 2020 Golden Puppies Australia”
        2. No local telephone number listed
        3. The Genetic Testing page has text also found on other pages
It would be great if you have a contact in Perth who could doorknock the address. Without some physical proof, I would not proceed.

      3. Thank you. I was just looking at AussieCavoodles Tas as well. Number has been disconnected.

Anyone had or heard of dealing with DiamondCavoodles.com? No .au, no location noted.

      4. Hi Laurel. Just looked and it has all the same features: pups who appear unrelated photographed in multiple locations, testimonials that can be found elsewhere, poor English. Prices are unrealistically low too.

    1. Hi Adam. I just had a look and it certainly does not pass the sniff test. Reasons:
      1. pictures taken in all different places, some with owners in the background
      2. testimonials that can be found elsewhere on the Internet
      3. bad English.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is Golden Cavoodles under another name since that site has been shut down – both were listed in Nelson Bay.

      1. Hey Andrew thanks for spotting this and you’re help. Spot on mate, and well done for putting this service out there to help people. My wife was talking to this premier cavoodles until luckily she realised it wasnt right. Cheers

      2. Hi Andrew I have had dealings with Premier cavoodles and they certainly are a scam they incourage you to put down a deposit to hold a puppy you desire but when you ask for the address to view the puppy they ignore your request., they say they are in Nelson Bay but when you ring there mobile number they don’t answer it and the ring tone it makes when calling it sounds like your calling overseas, if you text them they reply with refer to the website, they say there name is David T and they certainly need to be reported and called out on social media. Regards Brett

    2. Hi there Adam,

Yes it’s a scam. We put money into one “Coco” $1800. The person “David T” didn’t pick up our calls after the money was transferred. Dodgy indeed. His address on the application form was “sold” last year. Different mobile number on the application form as opposed to the email footer. He wanted the money transferred using ‘osko’ services.

Lots of red flags we didn’t pick earlier. Anyhow we cancelled the transaction hoping to get a full refund. Lodged a police complaint. And notified the federal government scams website.

Gosh! What a world we live in!

      Be careful.

  37. cavoodlepuppyhome is one I believe I found they mentioned cavapoo in a email and also in the photos of one of the dogs you can tell it’s an American number plate. We almost got scammed until they used that word

    1. Nice work! I had a look and apart from what you say, I also found text that’s been lifted from other websites, puppies photographed in all different and implausible locations, ‘female’ written as FeMale repeatedly, even two puppies that are actually the same (Ginna and Kia). A scam, but with worryingly good photos that are hard to fault.

    2. We have a 3yr old cavi. We just lost her companion a 12 yr old beagle to cancer.
All her life our cavi has had a partner dog so I cannot get another beagle… emotionally so decided on a cavi as a partner …..but the scams
Personally I have no clue how people can be so bloody heartless.
Thanks so much for all the info because when you’re still tender you can be vulnerable.
      Cheers
      Tone

  38. Hi there.
Wondering if you could check australiacavoodles.com site if they are genuine? Only can talk to them on the site by sending message or through what’s app us. Does whatsapp us mean its whatsapp USA from America? I haven’t seen this before.

    1. Hilarious. Did you see the photos they used on the home page are of Don Burke and Julia Gillard? Then there are: bad English, typos, dodgy email address, use of WhatsApp, no address, a testimonial with a picture of a young girl saying how lucky she is to be retired. Thanks for brightening an otherwise dull day.

  39. Hi, looking at buying a cavoodle interstate and have already been in contact with 2 scammers so are very wary…the site cavoodleforme seems to be legit. They have answered all my questions, have sent many pics and videos with the same puppy/house/garden…they said I will get a tracking number to check before payment…they just seem a bit pushy. what do you think?

    1. Hi Kimberly. I would be VERY suspicious. Red Flag 1: poor English, many typos e.g. this on the homepage: “Cavoodle needs a moderate amount of exercise when fully grown; do not over exercise when young. It should be taken on a daily walk or allowed to play in a large yard and Apartment life”. Red Flag #2: this text appears on MANY websites: “I am a gorgeous puppy with a personality to match. I am also up to date on my vaccinations and vet checked from head to tail, so when you see me I will be healthy”. Red Flag #3: this testimonial is also on the Banksia Park site: “Everyone who meets her loves her, and is amazed at how confident and calm she is. Many have commented that she must have come from a great breeder and we have given you guys glowing recommendations (and in fact a few wrote down your website and will probably reach out to you guys)” If you or a friend can’t visit, my advice is don’t buy.

    2. I’m look at the same website . Thinking that same as you. What puppy where you interested in. Where did they say they said they were located.

    3. Hi Kimberly
      Any recent news?
I’m about to put my precious money down (I’m a retiree) & am a bit concerned that they are legit.
Yes, they did appear to be pushy particularly when I asked a few questions.
      I would appreciate your comments
      Thank you
      Sue

      1. If you have any suspicions, trust your instinct and confirm their identity in person. Scammers are getting better and better at talking the good talk. Why on earth would a genuine Cavoodle breeder need to be pushy in today’s seller’s market.?

  40. Hi
I have just been scammed today from company called Cavapoo for sale now stating they are from Tasmania I paid $2900 which supposedly included transport from Tasmania to Sydney this Sunday. My sister and friend also called the number and asked for the dog I was suppose to get. The mobile was being diverted to overseas.

    1. I’m sorry but thanks for posting. It’s always suspicious whenever they use the American name ‘Cavapoo’.

  41. Hi was looking at a site cavapooforsalenow.io to purchase a new puppy. They have an address in Tasmania and phone number and have replied to any email from us with more pictures but didn’t answer when we called the mobile. I tried the image search suggested but couldn’t get see any matches.

Can I get your thoughts on if you think it’s legit?

    Thanks Adam

    1. Hi Adam. Interesting. Here are my thoughts:
      1. It’s a genuine street address so if you know anyone who lives nearby, get them to contact the residents.
      2. ‘Cavapoo’ is rarely used in Australia as a name for Cavoodles (red flag)
      3. Once again, it’s suspicious to see puppies photographed all in different places (ditto)
      4. Reverse image search doesn’t raise any red flags- they’re either genuine, or carefully done
      5. The clincher is searching the ‘testimonials’. These are definitely fake. Here’s one found online that’s a perfect match from October 9, 2017
“I received great service at Furry Babies. As soon as I walked in the staff observed me and was wonderful. I was impressed with how friendly and fast the process went with no headaches.”
Don’t buy unless you can confirm the seller is genuine in person. Yes, they could have just been lazy with the testimonials but it’s a major red flag.

    2. Hi Adam,

I was also looking into this place and it felt dodgy to me so i did some searching online. It looks like it was copied from this site in Cornwall.
      https://cockapoopuppiesforsale.org/about-us/
Also, if you google the address, it’s a house that was sold only recently.
Glad we both didn’t fall for this scam.

      Cheers
      Jenny

      1. Thanks for your diligence. I even visited the Cornish site and have been doing this so long I immediately recognised testimonials I had seen on other scam sites. Maybe this is the source!

  42. Ive been looking for several months since losing my 13 year old dog in Jan.
Have to say this site looks suspicious as I can find no online trace except for their website.
Red flags – price seems cheap compared with other sites and they have lots of available puppies. Any thoughts?
I would prefer not to buy from puppy mill or pet shop .
    cutestcavoodle.com

    1. Hi Denise. Sorry for the delay which was due to the full URL being blocked by our spam filter. Since you posted this, the site has disappeared and there are lots of comments online attesting to this site being a scam.

  43. We were scammed by happy cavoodle to
The day the dog was supposed to be shipped we got email from courier asking for more money. So heartbroken to think you are getting a puppy and then nothing.

    1. Same Charlotte so devastated! Bank fraud is still helping but very slow. Been 2 months now and I outtlaid heaps and they wanted more before giving me papers.

  44. Classics Cavoodles Darwin is a scam ask for your money it goes into a Melbourne account then they ask for a further 1000 to get a cage box that is heated the money is sent to Manila.

Be careful as we weren’t only lost some money

    1. Thanks Guy- not to be confused with NT Oodles, who appear legitimate. I couldn’t find them online- where do they advertise?

    2. Hey,
Im not sure if we’re now in the same situation as you. A couple of days ago we bought a puppy through HappyCavoodle.com, and today apparently the puppy is with the courier. We received an email from the courier ‘Global Cargo Service’ with a tracking number. However, the tracking number doesnt work. And the guy kept calling me for my payment of $1K+ for the puppy’s delivery (Although he did say it is 97% refundable). They want the payment through western union. My gut feel is telling me that this is a scam. And even the puppy being with the courier is also fake. I just wanna ask if this was the same experience?

      1. Hi Inah. I’ve tried to look at the site and it doesn’t appear to exist any more. Follow the advice in the article to see if you can find evidence it isn’t legitimate.

  45. So if they are 1/2 price and from the NT and only accept trf not PayPal it’s a scam?

    1. Hi Milly. On its own, evidence like that is only circumstantial. You need to dig a bit deeper like I suggested. Good luck.
