She was 4 and an agility and obedience dog and I loved her. She picked up something in the bushes. She died of acute renal failure. Either non steroidal AI drugs or they thought maybe anti freeze. Another dog who was competing in utility died with the same symptoms nearly a year later after eating something in the same area. So it does happen.
