This is why we brought our Amstaff, Lexi, all the way from Flagstaff Hill for her first puppy check up. We are agonising over how to go about desexing her. Our previous female Amstaff sadly passed away from lymphoma at age 9 which we found very traumatic. We wonder if it could have been due to hormone loss as she was traditionally desexed at 6 months. Our current girl is 12 months and has been through 1 heat. Do you have any recommendations on the procedure best suited for her breed and age, with the best prognosis long-term?
