Hi there,

My dog has had a grass seed for over two months now. Two surgeries and the vets can't find anything. His wound from surgery also isn't healing - at a loss for what to do. Any advice?

I've noticed due to the amount of rainfall possibly, my dogs are all coming home with more grass seeds, than prior years. All are groomed immediately, ( slicker brush and comb), I run my hand throughout their coats, I'm finding more grass seeds later on in the carpet, and during a second scan/groom later in the day.

Hi Joanne. It’s very unusual for a dog to not heal very quickly once a grass seed is removed. My experience when this doesn’t happen is that there is often still a fragment of the grass seed present or another whole grass seed has gone up the same hole. Good luck.

My small dog sneezes when she has been rolling around on her back. I just assumed this was dry nasal passages due to her being upside down for a short while. Am I wrong with this?
Also she coughs a hacking type of cough, after drinking any water. Short and sharp, then she stretches her jaws. I though most dogs cough after a drink. Is this something I need to be vigilant with?
