We’ve Moved! The New Walkerville Vet Building

Updated November 29, 2020

On Friday the 1st of February, 2019 after nearly 20 years of making do in rental accommodation, we moved into our new and carefully designed permanent home. It’s all been due to your support. Read on to find out where we are and what the building looks like.

A Sneak Peek

We think we’ve created something you’ll all enjoy:

  1. A place for keeping pets healthy & happy
  2. A place of healing
  3. A place of beauty.

I don’t want to spoil the surprise, especially of the reception and waiting. However, here’s a small taste. Pictured is the waiting room for timid animals such as cats and rabbits.

Drop in and take a look!

Our New Location

Local area plan

We are at 142 North East Road, Walkerville. That’s directly opposite the Hampstead Hotel and the Hampstead Road lights. A group of old shops on the site were demolished to make way for the new building.

Getting Here

We are now on the opposite (Walkerville) side of North East Road, so you get in by travelling towards the city. As you can see from the aerial plan, the driveway is at the city end of the block.

Heading to the city, you make a left turn into our carpark just after the Hampstead Road lights. From the city side or the other side of the road, the easiest way is to come down Hampstead Road and turn right at the lights. Stay in the left hand lane and indicate as soon as you start turning. Our driveway is only 100m ahead on the left.

The Benefits

Here’s what the new building offers our patients and clients:

vet floor plan
  • Better off-street parking (if the front carpark is full there are more down the driveway)
  • Disability & wheelchair access
  • A second waiting area & consulting room for nervous animals (especially rabbits & cats)
  • More room for puppy school classes
  • Large and separate dog and cat wards
  • Walk-in dog runs for large dogs
  • Anaesthetic recovery areas
  • A memorial garden
  • Stability and permanence

We’ll do a proper open day later in the year and invite you along.

  1. Congratulations Andrew for the new building! It is stunning!
We were touched by waking in today and finding this well planned waiting room and consulting room for cats and rabbits only. How thoughtful of you!
We had a great outcome from this visit. When back home with Caramelo today, Tiger didn’t hiss at Caramelo as he had done before due to the altered scent. Happy day Andrew! Thank you for being an outstanding professional!

  2. Andrew, good to see you finally get your own place. The location is bit awkward, but we’ll get used to it. The team will be happy with new place and a great design.
We look forward to the open day.

    1. Thanks. The car park is easier to get into than it looks and a lot bigger! See you there soon.

  3. Absolutely bloody fantastic congratulations to you all. Daisy Rory and Lenny will all look forward to a visit to there favorite vets.

  4. Looks impressive ! Also good news report on trying to make pet food safer!
Can’t believe it’s been about 16 years since we’ve been bringing our pets to you ! Can’t wait for the new abode!
