Welcome to our guide to the best places for dogs in or near Clearview, Adelaide. Dogs in Oakden have a wide choice of places to exercise.
Dog Parks in the Region
Bentley Reserve Dog Playground
Bentley Drive, Holden Hill
This dog playground is fully fenced and basic obstacles such as jumps, logs, tunnel, slide and lots of open space to enable dogs to run free and socialise with other dogs and their owners. There are two areas: one for small dogs and puppies and one for large/ adult dogs.
Shelters, seating, footpaths and dual use drink fountains allow pets and owners to interact in a relaxed and attractive environment.
Another good dog park which is large and usually quiet is LJ Lewis Reserve, Northfield (pictured). It is accessed from Grand Junction Road or Stirling Street. It has an unusual feature of a separate fenced area which is available for over-excited dogs.
Visit this page to discover more Adelaide dog parks and how they differ from other off-leash areas.
Local Off-leash areas
The best area for off-leash activity is the eastern end of Regent Gardens Reserve where it borders Hampton Drive. Here there is a fence separating the park from Sir Ross Smith Boulevard and doggy bags etc. The area bordering Regent Gardens Drive is also good.
Adelaide Dog Parks
The Roy Amer Reserve on Sir Ross Smith Boulevard and Kew Drive (pictured) is a large, landscaped park with several wetlands. It is a great place to stroll but dogs are required to be on a leash here, presumably due to the waterfowl.
Featured Pet-friendly Venue
Veloce Paninoteca (pictured) is a cafe situated in the Northgate Village Shopping Centre.
It has a good reputation for food and coffee and plenty of shaded outside seating with water for dogs.

Oakden is part of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield www.portenf.sa.gov.au. Oakden vet care is available at Walkerville Vet.
The easiest way to get to Walkerville Vet from Oakden is probably to go down Fosters Road and get on to Mullers Road. Just after it becomes Regency Road look out for the end of Galway Avenue on the left, and turn down here. Drive all the way to North East Road, turn left and our sign is only two streets further on on the left.
