					<description><![CDATA[I have  a rescue  fiv cat not sure  how old he is  mybe 3. Or 4. He has been  hard work  I was bite 3 times  the first week  quite  badly  broke the skin and a lot of blood.  I have  had him  about 6 months  he has settled  down  a lot now  but still  has the  tendency  to try to  bite  but not aggressive just nips and sometimes scratches  too he is  not a lap car  but has started  to become  more comfortable  lately.  I had to put my darling boy  down  as he was 18 and got  sick.]]></description>

Hi Linda. Like most diseases associated with FIV, the diarrhoea will not be directly caused by the virus but instead by another disease process only possibly exacerbated by immunodeficiency. It’s actually more likely at 3 years to be unrelated as FIV is usually asymptomatic at this stage. Chronic diarrhoea in young cats is mostly caused either by an infectious agent such as Coronavirus (best identified via faecal PCR) or dietary intolerance.]]></description>
